Returns, Refunds, Exchanges, & Replacements Policy

We’re a small, independent business, and we deeply appreciate your support. Ancient Wine Guys is built around thoughtfully curated wines and the history behind them, and we stand behind the quality of what we send.
Because wine is a perishable and regulated product, all sales are final, and we do not accept returns of wine once an order has shipped. That said, we’re always happy to help in the situations outlined below.
Damaged, Corked, or Faulty Bottles
If a bottle arrives damaged, leaking, or is corked or otherwise flawed, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and include:
- Your order number
- A brief description of the issue
- Photos of the bottle and packaging, if applicable
At our discretion, we will offer one of the following for the affected bottle:
- A replacement to be shipped in a future shipment
- A credit toward a future shipment
- A refund
We do not require damaged or faulty bottles to be returned.
Weather, Heat, and Cold Holds
Wine is sensitive to temperature extremes. We monitor shipping conditions closely and are always happy to place a temporary hold on a shipment to help avoid heat or cold damage. To place a hold, please contact us at info@ancientwineguys.com.
- If you have concerns about upcoming weather at your delivery location, please contact us before shipment and we will gladly coordinate a hold where possible.
- Once an order has shipped, we are not responsible for damage caused by weather exposure if a hold was not requested or if delivery was attempted to an unsecured location.
Proactive communication helps us ensure your wine arrives in the best possible condition.
Taste Preferences & Curated Selections
Ancient Wine Guys is a curated wine club experience, and selections are not customizable by default.
We do not offer returns or refunds based solely on personal taste. However, if a particular bottle truly wasn’t to your liking, you’re welcome to reach out. In some cases, at our discretion, we may offer a courtesy exchange or future credit as a goodwill gesture.
These requests are handled case by case, are not guaranteed, and are not intended to replace the curated nature of the club.
Shipping Issues
Once an order has been marked as delivered by the carrier, we are not responsible for:
- Theft
- Missed delivery attempts
- Weather exposure after delivery
- Incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses provided at checkout
Please ensure your shipping information is accurate and consider delivery to a secure location. If you need to make a change, please contact us at info@ancientwineguys.com.
Subscription Orders
Wine club shipments are billed and fulfilled according to the schedule outlined at signup.
- Changes or cancellations must be made before the billing cutoff date
- Orders that have already been processed or shipped are not eligible for cancellation or refund

Alcohol Sales Notice
By purchasing, you confirm that you are 21 years of age or older and that wine shipments are legal in your delivery location. All sales are made in compliance with applicable federal and California state alcohol regulations.
